Elkhart, Indiana-Riverside Tool Corp. has acquired General Saw Corp. The terms of the acquisition were announced on July 9, but were not disclosed.

Founded in 1937 and headquartered in Cape Coral, Florida, General Saw produces carbide saw blades for the wood, plastic and acrylic markets. A statement from Riverside Tool stated that the acquisition of General Saw will strengthen the capabilities, products and services of the two companies.

Effective immediately, General Saw will become a brand under Riverside Tool, and Ray Kordecki will oversee product sales and engineering.

"The Riverside Tool team looks forward to working with Ray Kordecki to provide our dealers and the customers we serve in this product category with his wealth of knowledge," said Ronald Migedt, general manager of Riverside Tool.

Riverside Tool is headquartered in Elkhart, Indiana and specializes in custom profile machining using cemented carbide, Riverloy and PCD (diamond) materials. Riverside Tool became a company of Techniks Industries in June 2016.

Vern Cameron, CEO and President of Techniks Industries said: "The addition of General Saw to Techniks Industries' growing portfolio of brands enhances the range of solutions and our value to distribution partners and end-user customers. He added:" We are committed to building our platform with industry-leading brands and using incredible depth and collective industry knowledge to improve the operational efficiency and performance of our customers. "

The acquisition of General Saw marks the second mold company acquired by Riverside Tool in less than a year. In January 2017, the company acquired Carbide Specialties in Grand Rapids, Michigan, a manufacturer and service provider of custom knives, knives, saw blades, and milling bits.

Techniks Industries is headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana and also owns Techniks, Inc., Parlec, NAP Gladu and RKO Saw. Techniks Inc. provides tool clamping, cutting tools and magnetic workpiece clamping solutions sold through industrial distributors. NAP Gladu produces diamond and cemented carbide tools and has 13 factories in the United States and Canada. RKO Saw manufactures PCD and cemented carbide saw blades sold through industrial distributors and OEM relationships. Techniks Industries acquired Parlec's tool division in April 2017.
